Sobrarbe is cuurently a Geopark, part of a worldwide network of these parks. One of the towers of Aínsa Castle has been turned into a museum and visitors’ centre for the Geopark. Many goelogists come to Sobrarbe throughout all year round to study rocks and strata, geological formations that explain the history of this land over 500 million years. You don’t need to be an expert to admire and understand many of these formations.
