Given the large number of canyons and north faces in the district, Sobrarbe is the location of many frozen waterfalls. For several years there have been a few guidebooks on the ice-climbing areas in the Sobrarbe area. Among them, Fuenfría in the Chistau Valley deserves special mention as the first Grade 7 on the Iberian Peninsula.
Sobrarbe is now one of the best areas in Southern Europe for these specialities. Most of the adventure companies in Aínsa arrange guides for you to practise these disciplines.
